artist bio

Jane is a lazy painter. Sitting, thinking she comes up with a narrative for her painting. She creates a mise-en-scene using the humble bench. She likes to paint in acrylics oils and gouache. She starts with en plein air painting and then works in the studio with dioramas. The dioramas allow her to play with the narrative and invoke the uncanny.
Jane has a French degree from Royal Holloway London University . She has a masters in the History of Art and Design from Falmouth University 2006. She has been a teacher for many years and has a PGCE in modern language Teaching from UWE Bristol.
She has exhibited at the Crypt Gallery in St Ives July 2023. She has exhibited at Chapel House in Penzance2025
