answering the question?
“How do you evoke a sense of place in your work”

Nuala Taylor
“To paint a place, I have to get to know it. So I walk it – different weathers, different times of day, different seasons – until it gets into my bones. Then I know what I’m aiming for.”

Karen Eames
“Each work becomes a space
where I am present inviting
the viewer to feel landscapes
with wild resonance
and quiet beauty.”

Alison Hunt
“I hold the memory of the place while I paint, my process of scraping back and overlaying mirrors the cycle of nature: decay, growth & renewal.”
sėntinėl speaks to our role as guardians of the natural world — holding space for its strength, fragility, and resilience.
